about Cassandra Scott-Finn is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist based on Bundjalung Country in Byron Bay, Australia. Working across photography, sculpture, installation, performance, and analogue moving image, her practice explores the complex relationship between self and environment ~ guided by biophilia, ecosexuality, and ecofeminist thought.

Raised as an only child in remote North East Victoria, Scott-Finn often felt she was raised by the landscape itself. Days spent collecting rocks, exploring bushland, and swimming in natural springs cultivated a lifelong reverence for the natural world that remains central to her practice.

Drawing upon contemplative practice, ecological thinking, and material experimentation, Scott-Finn creates works that invite audiences into slower and more attentive ways of seeing. Through kinetic movement, reflective surfaces, natural materials, and analogue processes, her projects explore impermanence, interconnectedness, and the shifting boundaries between self and environment.

In 2023, Scott-Finn was a finalist in the Bowness Photographic Prize, National Photographic Portrait Prize, Olive Cotton Award, and Galah Regional Photography Prize. Her work has been commissioned by the Museum of Old and New Art and is held in public and private collections.

Everything she creates is a letter back to the landscape that raised her.
